3-19-03 Rose Lear DC Press Conference Set Lear Meets Her Michigan Congressman Thursday AM 15 days ago on March 5th, Rose Lear, of Muskegon, Michigan
began a hunger strike to force the government to answer her Petitions for
Redress of Grievances regarding the fraudulent origin of the income tax, the
legal jurisdiction of the IRS and the unlawful enforcement of U.S. income
tax laws. She will fast until her death or until the government agrees to
meet in a public, recorded meeting and provide official responses to the
hundreds of legal assertions contained in the Petitions. Early Wednesday, Molly Moeser, Senior Aide for Michigan Senator Carl Levin, said that Senator Levin "did not have time to meet with Lear". Senator Debbie Stabenow’s aide Melissa Kaltenbach said the Senator had "no time to meet with Rose Lear." By late Wednesday, both Senators had offered to have staffers meet with Lear following her morning meeting with Rep. Hoekstra. The meeting is tentatively set for room 367 of the Russell Senate Office Building. It is not confirmed that this meeting will occur. Lear was unavailable to confirm this meeting because she is en route to Washington. She has previously insisted on meeting directly with her elected representatives. In the afternoon, Lear and We The People will hold a one-hour press
conference on Thursday, March 20, at 1 PM EASTERN at the National
Press Club, 529 14th St. NW, Washington DC. The press
conference will be broadcast live over the internet. The internet
